About The Lao Conference of Churches

The Lao Conference of Churches is a non-profit organization registered under the State of California with specific purposes:

  • To assist individuals and groups of the Lao Christians from various Christian denominations in America and Canada, whose affiliation of faith is mutually accepted as set forth in the Apostles creed, and who have the common purpose of bringing to non-Christian Lao persons the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • To join together for effective Christian evangelism among the Lao people in the United States of America and Canada.

Our Vision

To accept scrupulously and comply with the GREAT COMMISSION of the Lord Jesus Christ as stated in Matthew 28:19 & 20

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (NIV)

Our Mission

To Serve Laotian Churches by Making Resources Available that will Maximize their Effectiveness for God’s Service.

The Bible

The Bible, Old and New Testaments, originated in the mind of God and was given to man by verbal, plenary inspiration. The Bible is our final authority on all matters of faith and practice and there are no other writings inspired by God in this way. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:16-21)

God

There is one true, Holy God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each person in the Trinity posses equally all the attributes of deity and the characteristics of personality. In the beginning God created the world out of nothing by the power of His word and by His sovereign power He continues to sustain His creation. (Genesis 1:1, John 1:1,3, Romans 1;19-20, Ephesians 4:5-6)

Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ, was God manifest in the flesh. We believe in:

  • His deity. (John 1:1, John 10:30)
  • His virgin birth. (Matthew 1:18-23)
  • His sinless life. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
  • His vicarious death. (Romans 5:8, 1 Corinthians 15:3)
  • His bodily resurrection from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)
  • His bodily return for His church at the rapture. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person in the trinity. We believe His ministry includes:

  • Convicting the world of sin. (John 16:8-11)
  • Baptism of believers. (1 Corinthians 12:13)
  • Regeneration. (Titus 3:5)
  • Indwelling of all believers.(John 14:16-17)
  • Gives gifts to believers to serve the body of Christ. (1 Corinthians 12)
  • Called along side to help the believer live the Christian life. (Ephesians 5:18, Galatians 5:16-17)
  • Gives power for witnessing (Acts 1:8)

Salvation

Sin entered the world through Adam and death came with that sin. Death has now come to all mankind because all have sinned. This death is separation from God. Jesus death was to provide for us salvation from this death and bring us back into fellowship with God. Salvation comes by grace through faith not of works. Salvation is a gift from God.

For those who receive the gift of salvation there is a literal Heaven where believers will dwell for eternity with God. For those who reject this free gift there is also a literal hell where there is fire and torment for eternal punishment. (Romans 5:12, Ephesians 2:8-9, Genesis 2:15-17, Romans 6:23, John 14:1-6)

The Church

The Church is the body of Christ consisting of all those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ as savior and Lord. The Bible commands these believers to gather together to devote themselves to worship, prayer, teaching of God’s word, baptism and communion as ordinances established by Jesus Christ, fellowship, service to others in the body of Christ through the use of spiritual gifts and outreach to the world.

Wherever God’s people meet regularly, in obedience to these commands, this is a local expression of the church. This local body is to have elders to watch over them and other leadership to assist in preparing these people to do ministry. The mission of the Church of Jesus Christ is world evangelization by making disciples of all people groups around the world. It is to this end that every person in the body of Christ should be committed. (Ephesians 2:19-22, Acts 2:42-47, Matthew 16:13-20, Ephesians 4:1-16, Hebrews 10:23-25, Matthew 28:18-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.)

The listing of 42 Lao-Christian churches below makes up the Lao Conference of Churches (LCC). They are located through out the whole United States of America and Canada.
